Huskies shake up roster with series of moves

first_imgThe Fort St. John Huskies have made a number of changes to their roster over the past two weeks. In all the team has brought in four players, while parting ways with three others.Added to the squad are forwards Lucian Serban and Anthony Ruggiero. Serban was acquired from the Abbotsford Pilots of the Pacific Junior Hockey League, and Ruggiero previously served as the captain for the Kelowna Chiefs of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.Also new to the team is defenceman Michael Dupuis as he was part of a deal with the Princeton Posse of the KIJHL. There’s a new goaltender in the fold as well as Connor Neurauter was traded by the Blind River Beavers of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.- Advertisement -Leaving the Huskies are Narcisse Baptiste after he was released. He’s since been added to the Dawson Creek Junior Canucks roster. Nolan Legace was traded to Fernie of the KIJHL, and Jared Barilla’s rights were dealt to a junior C club in Ontario.“I am very pleased with the recent transactions,” said Huskies general manager Jeremy Clothier. “I feel as though we have made our team better right now and going forward will become a tougher team to play against.”On the ice the Huskies will take on the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings Saturday night at 8 p.m. and the North Peace Navigators Sunday at 2 p.m.Advertisementlast_img
