Tweet this comment Cancel Submit Comment Subscribe to None Replies All new comments Utility pole is snapped after wire gets entangled with truck.by Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow â€” A low-lying electrical wire getting snagged by the top end of a Federal Express truck trailer is being blamed for an accident which closed A Street â€”Â i.e. U.S. 81 â€” for about two hours from north of the roundabout to 18th Street.City of Wellington utility workers were busy restoring power and replacing a utility pole late Monday afternoon. Drivers were detoured to B Street as two blocks were closed down for a couple of hours .Â Roundabout traffic is closed for cleanupAllegedly, a driver of a Federal Express truck was turning out of a private driveway after delivering goods around 4 p.m. Monday. He was making a lefthand turn and the corner of his trailer snagged the low-hanging utility wire. As he proceeding south, the wire got entangled and snapped the utility pole to the north.No one was hurt in the incident.Federal Express truck behind the fire emergency vehicle was involved in accident.Follow us on Twitter.
